Group Counseling

In many situations group therapy can be more effective than individual counseling. The group setting provides an environment for interpersonal social stimulation. This helps the patient realize that she or he is not alone. In fact, the sense of unity provided by the group empowers patients to take steps necessary toward solving their problems.

The Adult Developmental Center offers the following groups for individuals who are addressing specific challenges:

Addictions
Breast cancer
Eating disorders
Phobias
Bereavement
Caregivers
Early stage alzheimer's disease
Stress management
Substance abuse and alcoholism
Student groups include social skills and study skills.
