Dr. Tobi Abramson is a pioneer in the field of Early Stage Alzheimer’s Disease counseling. She conducts a variety of mental health programs for older adults at the Adult Developmental Center, Inc. Her goal is to provide continuous and comprehensive care to elderly clients and their families as they face new life transitions. In addition to individual, group, and family therapy, Dr. Abramson provides individual and group counseling for care givers.
Dr. Abramson is the chairperson of the American Society on Aging’s (ASA) Mental Health and Aging Network and a member of ASA’s Board of Directors. She serves as a member of the editorial board of the Network’s publication, Dimensions. She is the former coordinator of the Geriatric Mental-Health Service in Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center’s Outpatient Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Abramson has an M.A. in Developmental Psychology from Teachers College of Columbia University and a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Fordham University.
